Wind! Rain! Cold! Hail!
Tough conditions to watch in, tougher to play in.
It was always going to be a tough game against a hard battling Weston team, the weather couldn't have been worse.
We started slow, conceding within the first minute.
We composed ourselves, picked ourselves up, and went again. We grew into the game, our work rate improved, the tackling increased and we started to play some nice football.
The first half was close, lots of defending, lots of pressing and some creative forward play, we started to make some chances.
A free kick, 20 yards from goal, Maxwell stepped up to score a beautifully struck free kick over keeper.
We certainly finished the first half the better team, pressing, attacking, clearing our lines and with 5 minutes to Maxwell once again finished a nice passage of play to put us up 1-2.

The second half saw the hail come in, (I remember how much it hurts when you're cold and wet), it led to our positions being lost, we started to lose concentration and it gave Milton Nomads the space to get on top of us.
We fought hard, kept pressing and tackling but they attacked in numbers over and over making it hard for us to play our own game.
We were holding up well, only to lose the lead to what I believe to be a dubious penalty. Mikey won the ball first, the ref went with the home teams cheers, 2-2.
We had some good opportunities, but with tired legs from a wet and heavy pitch our support dropped with our attacks which made it difficult to break through a tough defense.
With seconds remaining, Milton Nomads picked up the ball outside of the box with time to shoot which unfortunately was an outstanding finish finding it's way into the roof of the net.

We battled well, we'll learn from the game, a draw would have been a fair result, we'll go again.
