Berrow Leave it Late to Tame the Tigers

Berrow U12’s went into this fixture on a fine Saturday morning full of confidence after picking up a few wins on a the bounce and scoring plenty of goals. Shae Keeble opened the scoring, showing his strength, speed and power to bustle through the defence and slot home for 1-0. Keeble nearly doubled the lead with a thunderous effort which was expertly tipped over the bar by the talented Swiss GK. Swiss equalised just before HT, capitalising on some hesitation to score for 1-1.

In a second half of end to end football, it was Swiss who took the lead, the Swiss player quickest to react in the box to make it 2-1. With Berrow staring defeat in the face, Jake Frost equalised with 3 minutes to go, a loose ball from a corner was pounced upon and stabbed home for 2-2. There was still time for one more chance, and Berrow grabbed a winner. Sterling broke down the left and unselfishly squared the ball to Zach Taylor, who rolled the ball into the empty net for 3-2 much to the delight of the Berrow players and supporters.

Player of the match went to Shae Keeble, a good old fashion “no.9” performance.
